E-receipts – a change in cash registers, and the way the cashiers deal with receipts, customer is served at the cashier, is coming.
In recent years, economic conditions and business models have been changing rapidly. Online solutions and all kinds of electronic services have gained in importance. The pandemic accelerated many legal modifications, including the introduction of e-receipts in Poland.
The Ministry of Finance is currently working on the preparation of a national repository of electronic receipts, which means that at the end of this year (2023), issuing an electronic receipt directly from the cash register to the customer will become the possibility of the seller.
The upcoming changes are to help the purchases process to run smoothly and not be burdensome for both parties to the transaction as it is now. The goal is to make life easier for brick-and-mortar retailers, service providers, and their customers. The Polish legislator has already announced a change in the regulations in this area in order to make such a mechanism possible.
Due to the fact that traditional paper receipts are to slowly disappear, applications and devices allowing the receipt of e-receipts are beginning to appear on the market. This entails the necessity to adjust cash registers and staff training, as well as incurring additional costs, however not only costs, but also savings and other added services.
In connection with the upcoming change, CE Technology has prepared a proposal addressed to the needs of businesses: the MyWallet software platform. It is currently the only solution in the market that does not require integration with POS systems. MyWallet consists of a free mobile application for the customer and a business platform available for a monthly subscription.
MyWallet is a kind of link between the point of sale and the customer thanks to the mobile application. This communication allows for the transfer of an e-receipt when the application is brought closer to the checkout equipment, and at the same time for evaluating / giving opinions, sending notifications with promotions, and for correspondence with the customer.
MyWallet brings new benefits for business. E-receipt means shortening the time of customer at cashier, reduction of paper costs and the lack of contact with viruses and toxic substances. Additionally, retailers receive reports and notifications containing transaction data, ratings and opinions about the company product/service. The solution has unlimited possibilities in placing advertising content due to the fact that receipts are stored in the cloud and not on the phone. In addition, stores and service outlets can benefit from the new marketing communication channel and from active and passive data reports to optimize customer shopping experiences and build loyalty.
The app’s ratings and opinions are the key to real business control. To this day, companies do not realize how important the customer’s opinion is, that the greatest value is the knowledge of the quality level of the product, and service we offer to each customer. Companies do not know when the customer is satisfied and when he is dissatisfied, and why. Business owners are never fully aware of how their companies are perceived in the eyes of customers and how employees behave in their absence. Thanks to technology, the eyes of the customer can become the eyes of the business owner. Thanks to the My Wallet platform, the business owner receives automatic, regular reports and notifications presenting a complete picture of their customers’ experiences. My Wallet gives new opportunities for retailers and service providers to build an excellent customer experience and thus a competitive advantage in the market. The MyWallet project is fully compliant with the GDPR – it enables the analysis and profiling of customers’ marketing data in an anonymous manner.
Adaptation of the solution at the checkout is relatively easy. The MyWallet application collects the receipt automatically from the cash register in electronic form when closing the transaction at the POS. The application does not need integration with the POS sales system, only a small scanner connected to a POS computer, or software installed on a POS computer, or software installed on a payment terminal is required. The application does not require any intervention on the part of the customer, except for scanning his/her bar code. It is an affordable solution, because for a several dozen zlotys a month you can buy such a platform in a subscription based model (SaaS).
